The regiment reported that three of their 17 pdr guns had been knocked out in fighting. Five of the Quad gun tractor vehicles and two of the Carden-loyd Carriers had been destroyed along with one jeep and one motorbike. Twenty-Three men were listed as missing. Battle continues.

The regimental headquarters (RHQ) location now Grid ref 898698. 346th Bty, 97 ATK Regt RA deploy overnight in an area south of Granville sur Oden, to the west of Caen. 286th Bty, 97 ATK Regt RA have now been posted in support of Army Brigade 227 to a new area at Le Haute du Bosc. 159th, 97 ATK Regt RA withdrawn to rest area.

161st Battery, 97 ATK Regt RA move to grid ref 682617 in support of 44th Lowland Infantry Brigade who relieve the 10th US Regiment east of Saint Lo. 286th Battery, 97 ATK Regt RA move to Grid ref 702644 in support of 227th Highland Infantry Brigade who relieve the 11th US regiment. RHQ move to Grid ref 692692. 159th Battery, 97 ATK Regt RA move to Grid ref 692690 in reserve. The US regiments were being relieved so they could take part in the planed US breakout to the west as part of operation Cobra on 25th July.
